Ransomware precautions

 Hi, Aside from the usual ransomeware precautions, will i get additional defense if i'm using sandboxie for my browsing and/or VM guest machine?

I wouldn't browse the web differently especially if your users aren't browsing differently. They are usually the weak link. Send your users emails weekly about threats. I use the KnowBe4 blog for this.

- Up to date Brower (Chrome / Firefox / ...)
- Up to date AV
- GPOs may help on Windows, like whitelisting Outlook attachments

 @irj is correct. Yes you would get better protection, but do you feel that you are a weak link at that point? Not likely. You are aware of safe browsing habits. You are probably already safe.

 Phishing Tests are the best way to train your users.

 I stumbled across a testing framework for this a few weeks ago. Haven't had a chance to test it out yet...

 do you feel you actually gain anything by sending the blog to your users? A few of mine might ask about it, but after the third week, they would just delete and never read or look back.

 Email is also the more likely way to get hit by ransomware today than some random website.
