I've always been of the mind that a joke isn't funny if you have to explain it. I got the joke though.
I'm always of the mind that the joke is funnier if you have to explain it for 99% of the audience.

Best one in a long time was a phone conversation with @JentuTechnologies a week ago and he asked about this MangoLassi community. On the phone call it was hard to hear the exact words that I was saying, but the instant that he realized it was "mango" and "lassi" he lost it and was laughing so hard. He got the joke as fast as he knew what words we had said. He definitely holds the record for getting the joke the fastest, it was like 1ms.

Indian people really have food figured out. Mangolassi is used to help in digestion after a meal, reducing stomach acid etc. Unsure if I'm interpreting the joke in the way that it's meant though. Is it meant to be snarky?

I have no idea. I don't even know what a MangoLassi is, other than a drink with... I suppose mango.
Seriously? It's gotta be the most popular drink in southeast Asia and the subcontinent. You can't eat spicy food without someone selling them. Every Indian or Thai restaurant it's the features drink.
