@JaredBusch if you go into the config file fixing the LAN IP is trivial. Easiest config file ever.

SD and SSD really are the same thing. Just different cases, sizes or what have you. SD are perfectly reliable and usable for all kinds of general storage needs. There is a reason why so many systems today, from Raspberry Pi to Chomebooks use nothing except SD for their storage needs.

First five users are 1TB per user. Then with the sixth user it goes unlimited.

That's how they make the money. Each user needs an account. So the realistic capacity of usage is relatively limited.

Azure has its own object storage mechanism (similar to Swift in OpenStack or S3 in Amazon AWS) so to allow you to learn or test behavior they have an emulator so that you can mimic that storage locally.

If you combine the drive failure rate calculator for RAID 0 with the URE Risk of the RAID 5 calculator you can actually get some decent idea of total risk.

I've never heard of a hiring manager blacklisting people just because of some education they did. That sucks.

It's that it is a horrific education - one that exists simply for the purpose of "buying" a degree. It's not the education that they are blacklisted for but the way that they tried to get it (or what they are trying to pass off as an education.) There are two concerns. One is "why did they choose that school" - is it because they didn't want the riggers of a normal school or can't handle it? Or is it because they aren't doing proper research first? Neither is a good indicator. Those school cost a lot generally and provide questionable educations - often pretending to be true universities while actually being trade schools or worse, certification boot camps. This marks them as "fake" schools and people who attend them appear to be trying to get an education without going through the real process.

At best, it's just an indication of poor decision making. At worst it is an indication of dishonesty. If someone makes the mistake of going to one of these schools, they can be in the same boat as me and just take their education off of their resume. It only negatively impacts people who try to pass it off as a university education.

It's pretty solid, but I don't like it compared to just using FreeBSD. The web interface brings problems and doesn't really buy you anything. Not like it has additional functionality.

      I

I have a DS211J at home. I back it up to an attached USB hard drive as well as use iDrive from my laptop to back it up to "the cloud". I don't really use any of the extra features, just the shared folders and the time backup (kinda like VSS).

I have a client with a Rackstation 2211RP+ with an attached RX1211 expansion unit. It works very well and is rock-solid. Again just using the shared folders on an AD network.
