About time. Having that phone limping along has done nothing for Microsoft's fortunes, nor has it helped the mobile industry.

There are some fun projects that you could do with this. Although for wearable I guess it is a lot harder to really do something cool yourself. Wearable Arduino already handles things like wearable lights. This would be more for having a secret screen inside your coat to watch movies on.

      @SamsungTX
      Good info, thanks!
That would work for me. But we'll have to go to a store so she can hold it in her hand to see if it will be a good fit. (personally, I'd probably prefer the S8+)

We use T-Mobile, they've been great and the best for us so far, so no plans on switching... especially if they keep improving things like they seem to be.

For me, I prefer Windows Mobile... as my mobile use focus is on convenience (not sure how familiar you are with Win10 Mobile, but it's brilliant) and working seamlessly with my Win10 laptop.

My ideal solution or phone fantasy, would be the S8+ running Win10 Mobile! I doubt that will happen, so I'm waiting to see what happens with the "surface phone". But I am all about the S8 for my wife if it's a good fit after trying it out.

      What is your driving feature(s)?

      Not what I have šŸ˜›

I want Windows 10 Mobile to be stable, supported, and have a thriving app ecosystem with all the major apps. And a pony.

Now that that is out of the way, I like the consistency of iOS, but I don't like iOS. iOS X is light years better from a UX perspective imo than iOS 9 was, but there are still niggling little things that annoy me. And Apple irritates me on so many levels, and that irritation is only exacerbated by managing a network that is 95% Mac.

I don't know Android well enough to know what I want there, but I dislike what Samsung has done with their bloat ware. I was looking at Nexus for my WP replacement, but Alphabet chose to kill that in favor of a flagship that is more aimed at a consumer, than creating a clean experience (I'm guessing, not having used a Pixel).

OnePlus 3 looks promising. If I had to choose today it would probably be one of these.

And Remix OS is AMD64 only, it won't run on the ARM processors in phones.

Some phones will not be getting it at all, particularly lower end ones.

I think that's crazy. I have a Lumia 635 that I use if I go riding 4 wheelers or whatever because it cost me $40. Doesn't get much lower end than that, but it's supposed to get the update.

It's my understanding that this phone will be getting the update, it's just a matter of when. Are you on AT&T?

Ya its supposed to get it. That's what I was saying, are there any others that are lower end than that? I have straight talk but it uses AT&T.

I love the concept of the one device and I have been waiting for this for several years. By the time that I start looking for a new phone (about two years away), then I should be able to afford it.

iCloud Drive will start to look and act more like a mounted drive from a PC so will give a much more familiar file browsing experience.

I'm trying to decide if this is a good or bad thing.... I haven't used cloud storage enough to get 'used' to it one way or the other.

That's how bad it is now, no one uses it currently because it is useless.
