Google Silently Installs... voice search extension?

Hi All,
I just read an article (http://wearechange.org/got-chrome-google-just-silently-downloaded-this-onto-your-computer/) that makes it sound like Google is Evil and trying to take over the world... Not that they aren't... but this voice search has been around for a while on Android, and even in the Google browser from the Google web site.
What do you think? Are these guys crying wolf?
NB: I checked my version of Chrome, and this does indeed not show up as a plugin or extension that I see, but the URLs given in the article do work -- ie: chrome://voicesearch ...

Google's Evil regardless of this or not. I still use some of there stuff though, not really much you can do to keep data from evil companies (and the more evil NSA) aside from having no internet, no bank accounts, not credit cards, not store rewards cards etc. etc.

I asked the NSA for a copy of some files I lost last year.... they wouldn't give them back to me, lol.

Some things these days are hard to tell truth from fiction... I figured better safe to ask a few other folks rather than just sit here and stew in my own thoughts. 8-)
