      Hey guys.

I'm esentially looking for a ring central alternative, I realize in the states you have google talk, but does anyone know of a free voip solution for one user, allowing deskline and mobile to be rung.

Everytime I find something on the googlebox, its not available in canada.

((Not sure if there's many Canadians floating around here??))

      EDIT: FOR PERSONAL USE

Did not know that there were free ones like this in the US either 😉

What about just REALLY close to free... like a Dev1 or Dev2 instance on CloudatCost and a voip.ms line? Would be super cheap.

Don't know how VoIP will work from CloudatCost, have not played with a PBX there.

Dont get me wrong I love cloudatcost, but I dont think I can fully trust it yet for production
I even had some stuff up there that I pulled down last week, currently sitting with a Dev1 and BigDog1 very underutilized.

You want something free, but for production use that you need to trust? I don't know that there is anything that I would use for that scenario.

$5 DO hosting + VoIP.ms. Probably under $10/mo. I think that that is the closest that you are going to get to 99.99%+ at a super low cost.

I guess to simplify it it doesnt even need to truly be a voip but more of a call fowarder even? To allow customers to phone phone number 1 and then it'll foward to my wifes cell phone

I setup a C@C FreePBX system 2 weeks ago now.. I'm using Google voice for my SIP trunk, I have a Dev 2 box for it - I think I've invested around $90 in it so far.

I haven't used it very much though so I'm not sure how the long term sound quality will be. I am planning on trying to use this for my home phone replacement though.

I need to pickup this up, http://www.cl.cam.ac.uk/~rja14/shb10/angela2.pdf so I have some portable phones at home. They are a bit pricey... but We'll see how they work. Though I am disappointed I have to use their basestation and that the phones don't connect directly to WIFI.

The direct to WIFI ones are like $300+ each. OUCH!
