Analog Answering machine: recommendations

This one could be for @thanksajdotcom
Looking for a answering machine that will allow the message to be changed remotely.
Doesn't have to be fancy - just that it allows for the manager to call in and change the announce message.
Edited To clarify:
- Analog - phone line (POTS)
- Media - digital or what have you.

They sill sell the digital ones. not the analog tape ones. but they are basic and unchanged since they've been made. AT&T and Sony both make them under $20.

Why not use Asterisk? Hook up an FXS card to the box, have it route to a VM box. Easy peasy if you already have one on site.
If not, shouldn't take but a few minutes to setup one or even setup one in the cloud for that.

Google Voice is the easiest answer I can think of. If it's a phone number unique to that individual, forward it to Google Voice and use that for VM.

Asterisk connected to a POTS line will work great. I use Asterisk for my home answering machine. Then it can email me the messages.

How do you get a POTS line to Google Voice?

Google voice isn't really a bussines solution.

I don't recall if you can port a POTS line to GV. I've had a GV number (well actually three - 1 in a different state) for several years.
These are business lines.. and in different counties. While I hope to address the phone situation as a agency - I just got this request today. We can only do inter-office dialing at four locations - which are all on their own phone systems.
A new phone system covering the counties and number of lines and extensions would be a large capital project which is not going to be addressed in the time frame needed to give them the answer they seek now.

You can't port land lines to google voice. You'd have to port it to a cell phone or something first then to google voice.

You can port a landline to voip.me or VoicePulse for dirt cheap.

For work - I don't have a home phone,... we turned off our Vonage,.. well as a matter of fact, This October it'll be 10 years since we moved into the house... there is no telco line from the post to the house.... only water, electric and cable.... We turned it off and just went with out cell phones at the same time.
No point in keeping someTHING no one ever used anyway.
