So, Microsoft have jumped on the watch/gear/band-wagon.

Just about everyone who was interested in the apple watch was disappointed because there's already much better watches out at a cheaper price point. In fact they didn't really improve anything about them aside from making a $10,000 version that's gold and collectable (yet its electronics). Personally I wouldn't ever use a smart watch no matter how well its done.

It would have been pretty cool to have cortana built in the to the band. It looks like you have to have a Windows 8.1 phone, though.

Really? I've always just gone for the "I'm in a hot climate in the summer so I need to wear a hat and put on sunscreen" approach. I've never felt the need for a UV monitor?

I also think in order to convert the masses to smart watches, they need to be $50 or less. We have seen the galaxy gear watches not sell at the $100 price point. $200 is way t0o expensive.

I've got one on the way...there seems to be, at least from Windows Phone, a lot of app development for it...plus I've been meaning to get a fitness device to motivate me to get healthy...
