I have set up a form in Wix to help set up a job board here at our company...

      http://www.pinnaclestructures.com/job-board

When pulling up in Edge, it looks and works fine. In Chrome or Safari (desktop and mobile), it sometimes shows a "Harry Potter" template.

I contacted WIX SUPPORT and even got in touch with the Dev but they said they never seen that before. As much as I could, I combed that page in Wix to look for any reference to this Harry Potter thing but can't find it.

Now, this has become a "thing" with management...so beyond changing the form, any other places I can look at to fix this?

        Try Expresso Caffienatum ?

Actually is this happening on the same machine or random computers?

Edit: Sounds like a "Published / Draft" type setting or some kind of caching in Wix, but I'm not familiar with it.

What I'm seeing is that the difference is when accessing the website via https vs http

When accessing via HTTPS it is making a get request like:
          https://surgefactory.org/surgefactory/cv/cv.php?pageId=m1gy1&compId=TPASection_kuwsvacl&viewerCompId=TPASection_kuwsvacl&siteRevision=1196&viewMode=site&deviceType=desktop&locale=en&regionalLanguage=en&width=980&height=1124&commonConfig={"brand":"wix","bsi":"9b9fce50-825d-4402-9d87-59433086f848|7","BSI":"9b9fce50-825d-4402-9d87-59433086f848|7"}&target=_top&section-url=http://www.pinnaclestructures.com/job-board/&vsi=6554a2ba-3d2b-4831-8c81-0a5ab9caa82c

Which must end up not being valid parameters because it returns the default template in https://surgefactory.org/surgefactory/cv/cv.php

When accessing via HTTP it is using a get request like this
          https://surgefactory.org/surgefactory/cv/cv.php?pageId=m1gy1&compId=TPASection_kuwsvacl&viewerCompId=TPASection_kuwsvacl&siteRevision=1196&viewMode=site&deviceType=desktop&locale=en&regionalLanguage=en&width=980&height=1124&instance=nu3Ao1O4r5YEHW9a624X1J69z69XWwbrcFP_Rav_C2A.eyJpbnN0YW5jZUlkIjoiNWYwNjdjZTItOGY1Ni00NmQ1LThjYmUtYmM2MjA3YTI4ZGRmIiwiYXBwRGVmSWQiOiIxMzBmZTM1Ni02NWEyLWY2YTAtZDgyZS03NWQ2YWExZGRmNmIiLCJzaWduRGF0ZSI6IjIwMjItMDQtMjlUMTY6MjU6MzYuMDIyWiIsInZlbmRvclByb2R1Y3RJZCI6InBybyIsImRlbW9Nb2RlIjpmYWxzZSwiYWlkIjoiY2NlMDkyYTAtOWQ3ZC00MWVmLWE0YzgtMzZmMWFjNTllYzZiIiwic2l0ZU93bmVySWQiOiI5YjUxZDA0My05MjdhLTQ4ZjAtOGQ1Yi0zNGVjZjMzYTgzOGIifQ&commonConfig={"brand"%3A"wix"%2C"bsi"%3A"136abbb1-eb7a-42d6-87b9-cee02f2eb99d|3"%2C"BSI"%3A"136abbb1-eb7a-42d6-87b9-cee02f2eb99d|3"}&target=_top&section-url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.pinnaclestructures.com%2Fjob-board%2F&vsi=d2870418-1b2c-4b2a-9bc2-ef6d486079bf

Which includes an instanceid in the parameters. Add the instanceid to the first GET request and you get the same.

So for some reason the instanceid isn't added in the request when accessing the page with HTTPS

Not familiar with Wix at all, I'm afraid. They don't have a good reputation. The new GeoCities.

Well it does help me as I am still in a SOLO IT shop after 11 years...don't have time to code a website...

Is Wix saving you time? LOL

You don't code websites, you use tools like Hugo or Gatsby if you need something simple, or WordPress if you need a CMS.

One of the reasons those tools are recommended for businesses is the time savings.

It might actually help now, there's every possibility that it might actually be faster to move to something else than to troubleshoot Wix where you are dependent on their support.

Seems like they are your only hope. Wix isn't an open platform that you can support yourself.

Well, it also helps that the owners daughter wants control of website too so this is another reason I did Wix about 5-6 years ago.

That makes sense. WordPress is typically used specifically for that too, but doesn't tie you in to a vendor-only supported product where the host owns the site that you make. WP keeps you from being able to be extorted for support or whatever. That's its purpose (to allow easy editing by a staff of people.) Since WP is the best known tool, it's the one that best allows random third party people to be involved.

Definitely seems odd to pick Wix over WP.

Maybe they already knew it (the daughter). Wix is definitely my #1 platform to avoid. It's been the bane of the web since its inception. Just a totally shit product and lots of people avoid companies that host with it as being similar to using hotmail email instead of your domain.
