Poll: Enforce Default Browser
-
I've not seen this in the past - but it just came across my Work Teams chat that while setting SSO it was discovered that a Default browser wasn't set ("does not enforce a default browser for end users, which is a bit unusual...."). So - Is this done?
-
Nope. We let them pick from 3.
The chosen 3 are GPO controlled.

Found it best to not enforce a browser, but ensure the major ones are up to date, or force updates on existing installs to patch security vulnerabilities.

FirefoxWhat I expected - Thanks It's very environment specific. You will have to look at what is installed and used in the environment to determine what you may or may not enforce or update.

I agree with this. What I did a couple of jobs ago, was not enforce a browser, but only supported one (IE at the time) for our line of business application. Users could use Chrome or Firefox, but if stuff with "the site" broke, step 1 of troubleshooting use IE, and future problems were troubleshot from there.

We don’t enforce a default either, but our primary app vender only Likes Chrome.
