Elite Dangerous again. About completed my first 5000 light year journey in the process of unlocking egineers.
Need to give that another go. Will have to restart and pay more attention to the tutorial this time 🤪. Luckily only play a total of an hour or so. Will finish XCom first
It's really just a huge sandbox. It's got a few more activities you can do if you want, like the engineers stuff I'm unlocking at the moment. None of it is mandatory tho.
It really does have a bit of a learning cliff. Start out slow by completing the tutorial and slowly customize your control setup as you do new things (don't guess! Do a thing before changing keybindings.)
It does play best with a HOTAS. But everything except for the boutique stuff is sold out right now.

I don't have a full HOTAS, just a joystick. Granted it's got enough 4way hat switches to be a poor mans imitation. HOTAS would be nice for combat, but that's about it. Everything else I'm way more efficient with keyboard and stick.

Exactly, it is SO bad. I loathe it. It's so bad that I hate my kids using it. I'm so tired of having to "fix" things that should never be issues.

It's super simple, but a lot of fun. But only if you have friends to play with. It's not a game to play on your own.

Yup. Crystal Isles map, with more to be added soon to allow progression. We have a lot of QoL mods.

I got Teardown the other day.
It's one of the best games I've played in a very long time, though I haven't played many different games for a long time either, but still, this one takes the cake for sure! I highly recommend if you're looking for something new and fun to relax with occasionally.

@scottalanmiller I remember being enthralled by the original when I got a Dreamcast. I never did play Shenmue II, so maybe now is a good time to grab all 3 of them on Steam.
