Not much difference in reality. When on campus I can lock myself into our secure IT building and just work on stuff. I enjoy that a lot. When at home I can get snacks when I want and do whatever else I want but have to deal with people more through email and support chat. They balance each other out.

Layoff they are not returning. as of this moment my job (and my wife's she works for the same company) are safe but that I fear won't last for long

I've home based since Monday and for the next 4 weeks I think.
The rest of the team as of today will be home based.Most other departments are running half team in half home then swapping each week.
Stores are only doing phone/email orders when pickup from the doors

today went from 0-100 real quick.
Got a demo, 3 quotes and 4 new sites todo by tomorrow.

has to be anywhere. Any service (which is all) that depends on IT and is essential, therefore makes IT essential.
If medical care, vet care, logistics, food service, etc. are essential, IT is automatically.

i went to work on monday and thought "why am i here? i don't get sick pay, holiday pay, any type of leave pay, if i get sick my family will be screwed"
i finished as quick as i could and went home.
next day told all my clients i'm working from home.you're not gambling with your health with this one, you're gambling with your life.

This assume you assume you have a real chance of not getting it - or at least not getting it while the hospitals are over run with patients, therefore they can't take care of you.

I've been home since last Thursday. Our office is sending out the last group for remote work today. Our fuel delivery services are still active and we are keeping a close watch on things. The one bright spot is that our people are still getting paid.

Our home sending plans have stalled because I can't get softphones on iOS to reliably stay registered with FreePBX. Android doesn't seem to have any issue.

We're using twinning between our deskphones and the users cellphones. At least the cells are company issue. We are in much better shape than many others and I am very grateful for that.

I happened to hear about the x-rays for one kid (24) here in Omaha, who's on a ventilator; The x-ray of the lungs shows something that resembles Ice crystals in the lower half of the lung.
Its attacking the lungs a lot more then they anticipated.
