whatever happened to covid-18 and earlier?

      That's not how that works.

The World Health Organization announced on 11 February 2020 that "COVID-19" would be the official name of the disease. World Health Organization chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said "co" stands for "corona", "vi" for "virus" and "d" for "disease", while "19" was for the year, as the outbreak was first identified on 31 December 2019. Tedros said the name had been chosen to avoid references to a specific geographical location (i.e. China), animal species, or group of people in line with international recommendations for naming aimed at preventing stigmatisation.

Well that clearly hasn't prevented our Commander in queef from stigmatizing this event.

interesting. so we could see a covid-20 if we have a coughing virus.

@thwr that's not really surprising, people are in a hoarding phase, they don't want to go out repeatedly so they buy in bulk once for everything they could need.

Sure, but it's stupid in 90% of all cases.

Absolutely, people who purchase 6 packs of toilet paper for example. Who the hell needs so much TP

Most supermarkets have ran out of Toliet roll, Meat, Bread and milk. Most shelves are empty due to people panic buying. These people are so selfish.

What's out here is mostly toilet paper, disinfectant sprays and liquids, puréed tomatoes in cans, noodles, flour and formula milk. I've seen people buying 30kg flour - and most of them looked like they didn't even know how to make a bread 😉

Have been told 4 times today on cold calls : "It's not the right business move to open up for takeout only at a dine in, bar and grill. it's just not even worth the hassle for you or us. We'll just close for 6 weeks min. and hope for the best. appreciate what you're trying to do."
There's literally nothing I can say to that except : Well, if your boss changes their mind and you're interested. let me know, At the very least take a look at what they are offering , maybe you can save the server who is also a single parent.. from worrying about what her kids going to eat during this time..

at the very least i'm giving them an option, and I get practically nothing off of doing this. likely I'll get maybe .001 per transaction, until after the first 3 months, and then I'll get maybe 3.00 a site per month that I got signed.
Not about the money for me, to everyone else, I'm getting 0 commission for this. I'm just trying to help.

people are hiring busses and driving out to the bush and raiding supermarkets there, then returning to cities and selling what they took from the bush supermarkets, to the city people.

what a great big middle finger to people that is.

i've heard some supermarkets are now hiring security and you have to prove you're local so you can get in.

this IS really happening. my 82 year old mother drove 70+ kilometres (round trip) to get to the local supermarket only to find nothing on the shelves, people clearly not from the surrounding area and busses in the car park.

The Covid-19 pandemic has hit artists especially hard as tours and shows are canceled for the foreseeable future. If you are able, please join us in putting some much needed money directly into artists’ pockets.
