Day three dealing with Intuit who can't make QB work at all.

We just started using QuickBooks here for a class. The software looks kind of dated to me.

Literally abandoned in the 1990s according to insider sources. Its' ancient client/server design with some shared file DB that's just insane.

Yeah its really slow too. Not what I would have picked for sure. As, usual though, I got no say in the matter

@jmoore Based on our experiences with using it since 2001, I've found that the only thing it is quick at is frustrating the people who are stuck using and/or supporting it.

Of course, that could partially be due to our company file being 1.29 GB in size...

            That's pretty big.

Woot. It's around freezing here, too.

Album artwork is in hand!!! Off to the scannery after work to digitize it and get this freaking album released! And, side note, I found out a good friend of mine works in sales for Veeam. Definitely going to exploit that connection.

Taking a backup of my laptop before I start adding nvme drives, giving my wife a pep talk via text and trying to enforce read only Friday on a bunch of over-exuberant software devs.

Do, or do not. There is no try.

Threaten them with bodily harm if you have to... Most devs cave under threat of torture.

Most of them have trickled out of the building on this cloudy afternoon, which is fine by me. I don't have to threaten bodily harm quite as much.

In Ohio, getting breakfast at the Tru by Hilton. Then on to the road again. For those unaware, two deaths in the family on Thursday. So we are driving to NY for a funeral.

So last night we learned that my college grad niece, the one with straight As that graduated high school early, was not aware that lions and tigers were different animals. She thought that tigers were female lions. And, and this is what prompted the discussion, she was under the impression that tigers laid eggs. The shock that she thought tigers laid eggs led her family to ask her why lions didn't lay eggs too.... and found out that that was because she thought that they were male.

This led to, of course, discovering that she "didn't understand the Lion King", was completely unaware of Tigger and Tony the Tiger characters, and figured out that she had no idea what cheetahs and leopards were.

And, of course, this implies she is wholly unaware of things like habitats of big cats.

                                            None of that makes sense.
                                            So many contradictions.
