I have not, but I deal with this pretty regularly as well - how that passed QC I can't imagine.

how this is still a problem 5+ months later is my question!

I have a post on MS's forums for this very issue.

You can use the tab key in the modern Settings app to get to the buttons and set as desired.
Otherwise, as Dustin said, you can use the old school Control Panel Printers applet.

This also seems random as to when it is hitting.

Almost all my client systems are clean Windows 10 installs, then chocolatey setup, then, sometimes Office.

Yet it is a seemingly random chance that this bug is in play.

Agreed - it is very random.

Doesn't matter if it's 1809 (any old version really) upgraded to 1903, or fresh install of 1903 - it's just random who it hits.

My installs are close to JBs, a bit more

                Windows
                Chocolatey
                dotnet3.5 adobereader-update greenshot citrix-workspace wiztree googlechrome pdf-ifilter-64 via choco
                two registry changes
                Office
                Dymo label software
                Panda AV
                screen connect
                Windows updates

@Dashrender I'm not using Chocolatey so you can cross that common denominator out.

However, now that I'm looking at it, I'm about to binge read that whole web page. So thanks for that.

Could be an Office thing? Has anyone tested uninstalling Microsoft Visual C++ versions?

@Dashrender Eh, long story about Ransomware, a 3 month old backup, and how I took part in building an entire domain from the ground up. Good training. Pissed employees. Budget approved the purchase request after that though!

                          so it's anti-ransomware software?
