Andrew Wakefield, others hold anti-vaccine rally amid raging measles outbreaks

Again, anti-vaxxers prey on communities hit by outbreak.
Andrew Wakefield, Del Bigtree, and other prominent anti-vaccine advocates unleashed fear and toxic misinformation last night at a well-attended symposium in New York’s Rockland County.

Now the big question is... how many other things like this is Boeing aware of and keeping hidden from pilots and airlines?

                        Alabama passes bill banning abortion

Alabama has become the latest US state to move to restrict abortions by passing a bill to outlaw the procedure in almost all cases.

Classic Ferrari worth millions stolen on test drive

An opportunistic car "collector" used a test drive to make off with a Ferrari worth €2m (£1.7m; $2.2m).

The suspect had expressed interest in buying a 1985 Ferrari 288 GTO, police in the German city of Düsseldorf say.
He turned up by taxi to the dealership and two hours later, on a test drive, it was time to swap drivers.
But when the seller stepped out of the car, the would-be buyer quickly hit the accelerator and vanished. The car was later found in a garage.

Yeah, hard to hide that, they said. Given that everyone could identify it in a heartbeat.

Trapped Nebraska farmer cuts off leg with pen knife

A Nebraska farmer has sawed off his own leg with a pen knife after becoming trapped in farming equipment.

Kurt Kaser, 63, was moving grain from one silo to another when he was pulled into an auger - a tube with an interior shaped like a screw.

McDonald's in Austria offers hotline to embassy

US citizens who need help in Austria can now head to their nearest branch of McDonald's, because of an agreement signed by the fast-food giant.

The embassy says any American "in distress" or whose passport has been lost or stolen can get assistance from one Austria's 194 McDonald's joints.

I use the term joint all the time. I just wouldn't ever use it to describe McD's... that just seemed odd to me.

joints are (to me at least) generally more of a divy like place, think low rent.
