Trying to fix Office 2019 and reading resumes for a couple interviews tonight.

Good luck with both. ODT (Office Deployment Toolkit) is the only way for certain Office 2019 licenses.

OMG please don't say that about the 2019 thing. I have worked on this issue for tooo dang long!

I was the one that got to discover this at the consulting company I work for. It's really not all that difficult, just a pain because the documentation on the different versions is in a different place than where they have the instructions for ODT. No links directly from one to the other either 🙄

There is a lot going on here...

                            1. JAVA is not Oracle Java. Java is a language, and is free.
                            2. Oracle Java is free when kept current.
                            3. Updates to Java 8 are not necessarily free, but this is only for Oracle's version of it, and only for certain patches, and only for certain use.

Java itself is as free as it always was. And current Oracle Java remains totally free.

Running a virus scan on my PC now.
Was researching this issue with Windows 10 rebooting.
Clicked a link and it redirected me to something about downloading a pdf.
when i when to click out I had to hit esc to get out of full screen, and to get my curser back.
ended up closing the browser through task manager.
First thing i did was run a quick scan.
                                now a full scan.

Researching ways to cluster MySQL / MariaDB...

NDB Clustering works, it just seems strange and has odd limitations on row sizes and other things.

Haven't been able to get a Galera cluster up and running yet.... my head hurts.

I never lose power, so your experiences with losing power in NY have to be related to being in rural locations or lack of payment type issues.

When I was on NYSEG we lost power once in 3 years... now that I'm on a rural Coop we lose power at least once a month.

So a "I moved to a location that is more rural and now I'm dealing with rural issues". Makes complete sense to me.

I live in Brighton NY, and haven't lost power in a very long time, and the times that we "lose power" it's a power blip at most and things are back within seconds to minutes. Definitely not long a duration like @scottalanmiller has repeated as being the norm for NY.

I'm agreeing with you. NYSEG is actually a really good utility. I think it's the small Coops that dot the rural landscape that are the issue.
