Would it really? Just think about the process. "I have the sword now, so I'm the only one who can speak". Sounds like a quick means of getting a lot of bad apples in power quickly who would simply off the previous person in charge.

So - as an employee who was making say $18/hr at that same company - to see someone who was making say $11/hr suddenly get a bump to $15 - and you get nothing - how does that make you feel?
Of course we don't know that the rising boat isn't catching everyone - but it does seem pretty unlikely.
