I'm looking for a Music Streaming Service and a Sound System for Restaurant (4 function rooms) with the specs below.

      • Volume control (Each room & Centralized control area)
      • Music or Sound Source (Each room-guest can plug their own sound during events & Centralized control area)
      • Subscription based Streaming Service

      Suggestions please.

@justin867 your best bet with this to hire a local audio/video company for this. I don't know how far you have any equipment or not. You will need to run audio cable to each room and install your volume controls in the wall at the end of those cables. You will most likely have a 70 volt speaker system so plan accordingly. Many companies offer sound sources that can be subscription based. I'm in car at the moment so can't look stuff up. You will need amplifier, mixer, sound sources, 70 volt speakers chained up, and your room drops coming off of those. That is the basics.

As @jmoore said, hire someone. Locally is not really important assuming you do not need the person that designs it to install it. Obviously you need a local person to install anything you do buy.

I don't know any impartial consultants in this line of work, so you will likely have to talk to vendors. so deal with multiple vendors to see what they offer, then research what they said to figure out what you actually need without the upsell.

If you are looking to do it yourself, I would contact Crutchfield Pro Advisor. A free service that will spec out the equipment for you. I have used them a handful of times in the past and the system they designed is still in use and works flawlessly. All we had to do was run the wires and mount the speakers. We have these systems in car dealerships and manufacturing plants. They recommended a 70V system using Atlas Sound speakers and Atlas Sound amp with a Sonos device as the audio source. We also had the volume control for each room. Our advisor was Tony.

@i3 you can't go wrong with atlas, bogen, or toa from my experience. I have designed atlas and bogen systems that are still in place and working and that's been 15-20 years ago

If it was a good product 20 years ago, does that mean it still is by default?

What crawled up your ass lately? He gave three different options as all being good from his experience, and then additionally stated that he has experienced long lifespan with of those systems.

This is exactly the correct type of information that the OP needs.

You most certainly did call it out. Stating that because it was good 20 years ago that does not mean it is good today. But that is not what he stated.

He stated the 3 brands were good.
He then separately stated that 2 of those brands he has experienced long life from.

None of that has anything to do with stating something was good 20 years ago means it is or is not good today.

I stated nothing. I asked a simple question...

He stated 3 brands he thought are great.
He backed up that statement as to why they are great due to a couple of them still being in place today after 20 years.

I asked a question as to whether or not a product made 20 years ago defines a similar but different product is still just as good.

I don't know, maybe they still make that same exact product the same way as they did 20 years ago. Maybe it's even better now? But who knows if it's the same product that is needed today in that situation? I don't know.... I was asking... don't get so pissy.

Streaming for public listening gets into some interesting licensing territory. We ended up getting a specialized Pandora license at a company I worked at some years ago. I'll look to see if I can track it down again.

Yeah, I wasn't even going to get into the legal broadcast solutions as he was only asking about hardware.

I also use a Mood solution (but not that Pandora form Mood) at one client. Another client bought something that uses Pandora.
