      Attempting to install PCLinuxOS 2017 as a VM on KVM and I get this error:

      The "draklive-install" program has crashed with the following error:
      
        open2: exec of /mnt/install/bin/grub2-mkpasswd-pbkdf2 failed at /usr/lib/libDrakX/bootloader.pm line 1827.

      Using IDE instead of VirtIO storage device as this happened with that, too.

        Got it working. It is something with GRUB2 portion of the installer code, it has a bug in it. The LILO portion of the code does as well. Use the old GRUB portion and it installs just fine. Quirky, but it works.

          Tried without ACPI and APIC, but same results.

            @scottalanmiller Did you try a different input device? I've had odd problems like this caused by the default input devices on KVM.
