Remmina VNC: Unknown Authentication scheme
-
I haven't used Remmina much, but know that it's there to use when I need it. I discovered today that it will do VNC connections as well, perfect - one program to access both systems I normally use. Thus the error I get when trying to connect to a system (rPi 3) via VNC. I get the following error: It seems that realVNC will work, I had to install this over tightVNC under Windows - I had hopes here on Ubunut 17.10 that Remmina would work... but alas.. And yes, I Googled - Seems most just revert to realVNC.

You can fix this by changing the authentication method on the server if you want.

I just wanted to chime in and say sorry you have to use VNC.

I believe this is the first time I have heard of x11 forwarding - so while I google it,.. I have no ideas about it.

That is what I do as well. X2Go makes it super easy as you can use SSH from anywhere.

The whole concept of remote desktops comes from it.
