You mean load a single (or multiple) checks in laser printer & then print?

Yes, either blank check stock or preprinted stock.

I use Xero, you can definitely print checks.

Maybe that's something that QB lists as a feature hoping that people will think something else doesn't have it 🙂

I think it was Wave. Not finding anything online that indicates it will print checks for A/P. Found reviews from several years ago that confirm this. Didn't locate anything recent though.

Do any of these QB-alternatives allow you to print physical checks? It was my understanding that they didn't.

Yes Xero does. Xero has so many add-on's available for it. You can do so much more than what QB has even ever thought about doing.

WAVE does not print checks yet but it is on the future list.

Ya Wave doesn't. I used them for my side business and they don't print checks.

What do you recommend they look at instead?

If they have to keep compatibility, the hosted QB might not be bad. But never the on prem one.

Xero is I think the best option and they will help with migration from QB to Xero (the service team that is).

Ah I didn't realize they did that.

That's a pretty terrible thing to be missing on Day one!

It is a FREE Invoicing and BASIC accounting program. There is no option to pay for more features. Since some other "full" featured accounting systems don't offer the same thing... I think this is a pretty good option for a free program. I have used it for years

Except, why would any business trust their data to Intuit?

@stacksofplates I have had mixed issues with the Hosted Quickbooks (Terminal Server) meaning their support is not the best and they have multiple outages and they are running Terminal Server on cloud without 2FA or RDGateway.

It's Intuit, there is no reasonable chance that they could make good software. If they could, they would as QB's only competition is from them being so awful.

                                    It's their SaaS "cloud" one.

We use Xero for our accounting. I also use Wave when I do side jobs. Both great options.

In my experience, anyone using any Intuit product needs to switch, like yesterday. I've had support reps lying to me on the phone while I'm siting their own documentation on why they're lying, and the managers always backed the employee, not the documentation anyone could read (if you could actually find it in the first place.)

How Intuit is still in business blows my mind, they should've lost all their customers years ago.
