        It is certainly a hard one to track down.

          Where was that taken? I mean there are stacks of computers with 5 1/4" drives next to it.

            @Mike-Davis

            It was in an abandoned storage locker I bought. Everything in there was mid-90s and earlier. So that is why I am saying this thing has to be early 80s or older.

              While searching for answers to the OP, I found some epic necroposting (happening a lot around here lately) : https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/alt.sys.pdp8/BV_KBpHXKcI

                Well weren't 3.5" floppy drives more mainstream going towards the mid 90's? I'd say 1990+ for sure. Of course, if it was one of the early 3.5" floppy drives, late 80's at least.

                  The machines you see in the picture are mostly 286 and 386 machines, so 1987 - 1991 or so. That said, 5.25' drives were still used in computers well into the early 90s.

                      Well I can't find anything like it here: http://www.old-computers.com/MUSEUM/

                      So it must be pre-1950.

                          Yes, I'm guessing VERY late 80s or early 90s from the looks of it. Not that that means much, but the style and materials feel like that era.
