Sadly...I turned mine off for good. I have a Pixel XL on order. Currently using a Moto G4 until the Pixel arrives.
I have been offered to use and have an iPhone 7+ 256GB model as my daily driver but I just can't go iOS. It purely a preference than an prejudice. Plus, I like having file access upon plugging it in via USB. I don't like the whole iTunes Sync thing. I know I can copy photos from the phone to my PC for my main photo storage but can't simply delete from the file system.
It is most certainly blind prejudice then because what you say you cannot do works

Serious...I plugged in an iPhone to my Windows 10 PC and went to delete pictures from the phone from FILE EXPLORER and it said I didn't have permission...how do I get around that...? For example,. I have an iPhone6 Connected right now it doesn't even show up in File Explorer but iTunes sees it.Driver issue. I have come across that a few times since changing to Windows 10.
You have to go into device manager and change the driver and then windows will see it like it is supposed to but then iTunes will not be able to see it.This was never a problem for me on Windows 7 and 8.
Yeah, you have to put the iPhone into a special mode to do what JB is talking about. it's not a default behavior.
No you do not have to put your phone in any special mode, and it is the default behavior. It simply works assuming the right drivers are loaded. Prior to Windows 10 the drivers allowed both for me.

While a valid guide, that is not the point of concern from @garak0410. His point was that iPhone photos could not be accessed directly.
Being used to Windows Phone and Android Phones and easily using File Explorer in Windows to manage files and photos, it has been a little frustrating to try the same with iPhones...so my opinion/experience may change...

I finally remembered and the drivers must have all updated because everything just works. Visible in iTunes and to Windows simultaneously.

Well, I received my Pixel but sales rep ordered the standard and not XL...I am so not a complainer but hard to go from 5.7" of the Note series to 5" and it is kind of small. So, sigh, once again, waiting for the XL to come in next month now. It has been an unsettled few months with the Note 7 and changing phones.
