1 Machine 3 Users at a time Usage Possible

One friend asked me a doubt that he has one computer in his home.Where he used to login daily.The system is used by every family members.He thinks to be the machine parallel used by all the members while the machine is switched on?Whether it is possible???

I don't know about Linux, but there is no Windows desktop OS that does this. So either they had a server, some Linux distro that does this, or they are full of shit.

@Lakshmana There are products around (Nmachine I think) that do let multiple people use the same computer, but it's not something you can just easily do. (Unless you happen to be a UNIX/Linux/BSD admin.)

Or legally, those products are known to be violating the EULA, Ncomputing specifically. Not that that necessarily matters in this case or location, just making sure that people know that no software making this possible changes the end user agreement not to do this.

The biggest issue becomes... if one machine has three users, where do they put the monitors, keyboards, mice, etc. It's not as simple as a computer being able to do this, you need hardware to enable it. Microsoft Multipoint Server is software for this, then you need special hardware to enable it.

No easy way to do this, you need special hardware and software to split up the KVM connections.

I could not resist but to think about the game The Settlers when I was reading this. 2 mouses and split screen on one computer with a 14" CRT.
Are the family members supposed to use the computer at the same time? Because that would not make sense at all. Think about ergonomics, how are they supposed to share a maybe 24" screen with 3 persons? Where to put 3 keyboards?
I guess one could setup something like this using X11 or Wayland, but on Windows without violating EULA...

Ha, got it: 2-3 VMs with static mouse and keyboard assignments. I'm not aware of any hypervisor who can do this, but in theory... this should work

Maybe some more background here, why does your friend want to do this and has he considered what hardware he will need to buy?

I'm having a hard time understanding the situation, but could the friend be referring to users simply switching accounts and leaving the other accounts "logged in", but not in use?
