In order to get any resolution on having the watch checked out I have to take pics of the watch, pics of my wrist, and then send them in. Then I need to wait on if they think they will do anything about it.

Now if I was trying to sue them or something this makes sense. I just want them to look at the damn watch!

Ya my fitbit band started to come apart. I did have to send a single picture of the band, but they sent me a new one no other questions asked. I didn't have to provide proof or purchase or anything.

Yes that I understand, broken product? Prove it, well I can't cause the watch looks fine. I was totally ok with shipping it to them to have to check it over. But that sentiment is quickly disappearing. I have taken pics just to have them.! Here are the DM's from twitter so far (some removed due to personal information) 0_1464958176347_AppleWatch.PNG

Oh ya I get your point. I was just pointing out how easy it was to deal with FitBit, in case you do go that route. They are very friendly.

Yeah I am looking at getting a Fitbit instead. Time to move away from the Apple Watch 😞

Have you tried an Apple Store?

No it's an hour away and been too busy to get to. I might want to try that route. But if this is the response from support in general (which I am not saying it is, you get bad support people from time to time), than it would be a wasted trip.

Might be worth it, the Store tends to have very different processes than the phone in support.

My wife had Apple Watch, we returned it after a few days, battery wouldn't last until evening charge. What you're describing is clearly faulty watch, if you have Applecare, just insist on express replacement option, or demand appointment at Apple Store or authorised service center.

If they really want to see pictures of your burns, I'd go to a doctor and get a report, then visit a lawyer, and then let the legal teams handle that. Getting electrocuted is no joke, if you had a pacemaker, this could pose serious health risk.

Seriously, have your attorney send a letter, that will get some action.

I know quite a few people who got a second one just that way.

And legitimately, too. Like there was something broken that wasn't something to prevent it from not working. One of my coworkers, the little band that holds the strap down broke. They have no replacement for that so they sent him a whole new one.

That's what happened to me... Although I think my warranty is up. I wonder if I can get another. I'll probably buy one this time.

Filing a small claims court case usually works too. And typically cost $20-$50 depending on location

In other news I love my Pebble, and Pebble 2 is on kickstarter right now if you want to switch platforms. 🙂

I have a MS Band 2. It's a great thing. I can scan it at Starbucks to pay, get my IMs/SMS on it, track all my activity like you' expect, and it tracks my sleep. There's more updates released to it each month, and I expect that in a month or so, I'll be able to add my other barcode items, like Kroger and Ace Hardware (Windows Phone users can do this now).

Anyway, I've only experienced joy at the MS store's response when I've had a problem. They generally fix the problem or replace the hardware. I've yet to replace my Band, though I have upgraded my Surface twice through their trade-in program.

I don't think I'd ever get any Apple product. Their TOS/EULA is too long and, as South Park showed us, I don't want to agree.

Is the Band 2 just called the "Band" right now on their site? I only see one advertised and it is on sale for $175. Is that it?

I really like the look (and price) of the Band. There are several Apple Watch features that I am really interested in, though. Can the Band do the stuff like the Watch can with your airline tickets... so that you scan the Watch rather than needing the phone?

I used an iPhone, so I need the features to work with that as the device. A few things like that working and I could totally see trying out a Band rather than an Apple Watch.

They're not up to airline tickets (yet). Like most software driven devices, updates are being pushed out regularly so that feature may become available once someone determines the need. An SDK is free for download already. If the airlines are just doing a barcode scan, and not NFC, then it shouldn't be a problem to get that feature built in as an app.

One thing that MS does which I don't think Apple is doing is a 30 day trial. No risk, no obligation, buy it and if you don't like it in <=30 days, return it. This covers all of their devices, from xbox to Surface.

You could go to a MS store and try it on, see how it fits, and ask them all of your questions. I like mine. My wife got one. We compete against each other for steps in a day, calories burned and more. The health app is really cool. I paid for my starbucks today by letting them scan my band.

This first time I did that I got the same reaction that I got when I paid for lunch with my phone at McDonalds - utter confusion.

But that is because they had never seen a Windows Phone be useful before.

Oh, and it wasn't my Windows phone, since my Windows phone doesn't have NFC that wouldn't work. My Windows phone is too cheap for that.

It was my old Galaxy S4.

A new Band update went out this week. Android users with Cortana can now integrate the two with Band.
                                          http://www.informationweek.com/healthcare/mobile-and-wireless/microsoft-band-2-update-offers-android-support-for-cortana/d/d-id/1325792

Also, a neat article that compares a lot of the fitness trackers out there.
                                          http://www.gizmodo.co.uk/2016/06/the-best-fitness-trackers-fitbit-blaze-microsoft-band-2-moov-now-and-more/

One of the features I'll be using later today on the treadmill is Heart Rate Zones.
                                          http://www.windowscentral.com/microsoft-band-2-grabs-new-heart-rate-zones-feature-latest-update

Anyway, just wanted to throw some new information out there for this thread. The Band gets updated about every 3 weeks with a new feature. I have a Google alert setting to email me on Fridays about anything Band related so I can stay apprised of the happenings on my wrist, be it a future feature or something that's just happened (I already knew about the Cortana integration since I've updated already).

This has been fixed. However I am never trying it again (still have a mark on my wrist). So I found a sucker, er um, person to use it instead, aka @scottalanmiller

I am very happy with my FitbitHR.
