Picked up Space Engineers during the sale... now to find time to actually play it.

Is that like Kerbal Space Program?

I played way back in the beta, need to pick it up now.

I played the demo. It's too much like work haha

Once you understand how the engine works it gets easier. But I only ever made it to the Mun couldn't get much further then that.

I probably didn't give it enough of a chance. I watched a video where a guy was building a space station. He got a piece of it up and attached and said "that only took 45 minutes"

I just gave up after I heard that lol

Yep... I spent a good 4 hours trying to get a rocket and satellite up to the Mun... then I watched some youtubers do it in 10 minutes.

One of the best things that was introduced is the Career mode. Where you have to unlock parts by doing "Science!" it adds a really fun dynamic to the game while trying to teach the player how to actually play.

Not really. Still mostly fly by the seat of your pants.

Uck. I could design the perfect rocket that could get a crew to Mun and back, and my flying would doom them every time.

There are a few mods that make it a lot easier. MechJeb is the big one. They also recently introduced a Scriptable Autopilot mod. Which uses LUA scripts to do the controls.

Picked up the Darksiders Franchise Pack as it was so cheap and well reviewed.

I got my Oculus Rift DK2 back from Grey and started playing Eve: Valkyrie with it. It's pretty amazing even on the developer kit. Any other Eve: Valkyrie players? It would be nice to be able to play with people I know rather than randos 🙂

I've tried to get into EVE before, but I just couldn't. At my current life stage the time investment is a bit too steep. I'm stuck in a "filthy casual" stage of my life, so MMOs and most multiplayer games are out.

This is actually a spin-off of the main Eve MMO game. It's the launch title for the Oculus Rift and it's just dogfighting in spaceships - no trading or anything else. 5 minute rounds of two teams going at it, basically.

That sounds like a lot more fun that EVE to me. When I did the free 1month trial of EVE like 4 years ago, fighting was "click on red starship.... wait.... wait..."

EVE is spreadsheets the game. I've played a bit of Elite Dangerous and have found it to be extremely fun without much of the monotony. I'm hoping that they keep expanding it to include better/more missions in the future.

Spreadsheets the game, I'll have to remember that one! I like Elite Dangerous as well. I've been spreading my playtime between Elite, Minecraft, World of Tanks, World of Warships, Steel Ocean, and oogling the new features of Star Citizen as they come out.

Oh... I kickstarted that game (Star Citizen) way back before they had kickstarer I should really keep an eye on it.

Uhm, yeah.... I kinda bought a base Freelancer, a Freelancer LN, 315P, and a Freelancer Max.... I kinda went crazy when I found out Chris Roberts was doing a modern game.

Yeah I think Elite launched their own arena version, since the main game can suffer from being a bit boring with too much space in between the fun and exciting parts:

I might have to give that a shot for comparison.
