I've just completed the upgrade to SP1 on 6 of my HP servers but on my only DL385 G7 it isn't upgrading at all and wonder what could be going on. No hosts on the server, it's a fresh install of XS that I'm upgrading.

CIS wasn't much help with the server status report data, just told me I need to install updates I can't install because SP1 isn't yet.

Take a look at /var/log/xensource.log to see if you can get a better idea of why the failure is occurring. You could also try installing the update from the CLI.

You can also try the Xen Server Patcher script.

I ended up re-installing xenserver and the updates worked this time around.

Weird. Would have been interesting to have figured out what had failed causing the issue.

This generally happens when you run out of space for the downloaded patch to extract to. Try logging into the host and looks for patch or temporary files that haven't been deleted.
