I prefer to read which forum I'm in.
Just personal preference. Plus I have no way to make a topic in "water cooler" that I can see.
So it's a bit of a pain in the arse.

This may be the best way I don't see anything in the settings to set a home page.

At the top of each topic (which may be unusable with infinite scroll) there are breadcrumbs that tell you which sub-forum you are in.

You can always go straight to it.
I don't like having to go to categories. I don't see it listed on this topic, for a categories option.
So I'd have to go to a new bookmark. over and over.

It would be going to a bookmark, sure. That's generally pretty easy, though.

User issue. You have always been able to create a new topic into any category.

Getting the Categories added as an icon on the top was mentioned.

I agree. We can already click on recent posts. Why go to that when you click on that "home" icon (at least that's what I call it).
I remember seeing a thread discussing this. For me, it's confusing to click on home, and not going there. My car's GPS does that to me already. -
@Son-of-Jor-El I was in Ohio 1 time (I live in NY) and we were leaving.
Told the GPS to take me home... yeah the stupid thing was taking me to the same street address but in Ohio..... fun....

I noticed it immediately, and fixed the address. But it was funny. considering my home address as my zip in it....
So I was more confused how it got it mixed up.
