Having an adult conversation from David (Spiceworks) about "gaming the badge system" for SW.

Regardless if the information is completely valid...

      Fun time.

      Hi David!

There is a badge system to game? What do you get by gaming it... badges? Who would bother?

Especially if they are folks that can work on their apps using RDP.

Set your phone / tablet in the dock fire up the RDP app and you're good to go. 8-)

Maybe that.. but just as good if the apps are web apps and will run from a phone.

That's my point as well, if I were gaming the badge system there, I'd have several hundred bots, creating 1 off accounts that go and up vote all of my replies and posts.

It has to do with my topic here, asking people to go and up vote my response on the topic where I said I'd set up a pFSense Firewall.

How does that get you badge? Do you just mean Spice levels?

I could set up something like this for one of my clients... and let it collect logs from their web filter and network switches and stuff...

I really like the Kibana looks. A lot of information is available at a quick glance.

Does anybody know how Elasic search handles the data?

How long will it keep it, etc?

As long as you want, that's totally up to you. It is designed to keep it for forever.
