Really bad swag idea.... a key. A week later and people are still trying to figure out why they got a key and now that we've figured out it was something to do with a vendor booth.... no one seems to know WHAT it was, only that it didn't work well.

Looking at that thread.... so no one is really sure what the key even was?

Some thing it was eFolder, some think it was SoftLayer, I think that there was a third option too.

It was the Vendor right next to BOX. There was a tool box with a padlock on it to try and open. Not sure who the Vendor was though 😛

I'm convinced at this point that no one knows.

I still had the app on my phone. It was Efolder.

That was an in-effective way to do a prize. No one has known who it was. If I didn't remember who they were next to, we would probably still not know.

Sounds like it was complicated and unclear.

How does the app help to track it down?

There was a map of all the vendors on the exhibit hall floor. I knew that Box was next to them so....

Ah ha. I've never had one of their apps work so I stopped trying to download them. A web page is all that they need, not sure why they get so complicated.

If it is one of those mini keys it was HP who was doing the you win if you can open the lock.

Not HP. HP had their little clear box and they gave you a key then from a basket if you filled out their survey. They have done this 2 or 3 years now.

Forget the name of the other company that was doing it. Their key was IN conference bag. Supposedly 3 keys fit the lock.

I do have to say that sometimes "conference bags" have been awesome. From SW specifically in 2009 or 2010 they gave away a Leeds Sling Bag that was awesome. I managed to score two of them (my own and someone gave me theirs.) I wore mine out and switched to the second one and still use it. It's my favourite bag. It holds an iPad, Kindle, phone, misc. stuff. I use it all of the time for commuting. It's been my daily bag for many years. Really great bags, even hold an ultrabook or Chromebook in a pinch! A truly useful bag.

This past year they did full backpacks that seem pretty good. Have not had a chance to check them out yet. Same company, Leeds, though.

This year's backpacks are decent quality. Better than average for a con bag.

The one in 2013 was not as good, but successfully holds a bunch of work crap.

I love t-shirts! They need to have minimum up to XXL but preferably at least XXXL. In addition, coffee cups, flash drives, and depending on the product, and actually usable trial or even something like what Unitrends did with UEBs (called something else now I know). Scale did an amazing job with the little towels this year! I thought that was quite unique and original and LOVED IT! Make it fun, original and practical!

The backpack was pretty nice, no nowhere near as nice as the ones Cylance was giving out. Though the Cylance bag is pretty big, more of an overnight/camping style than pal'ing around a con.

Those at SW saw my Boba Fett backpack - I love that thing. Hold my Ultrabook just fine!
