I have considered that and FOG. Our probably is we have a bunch of small local branch locations connected by a T1 line. If I were to image over the network, it would kill the branch completely.

I would also recommend taking a look at out Community Forums since they contain tons of useful information, real-world examples, undocumented and creative workarounds, etc.

Whew...would hate to have to do this...it is already sharing duties with the soon to be demoted old domain controller...I can't imagine what would cause this problem since I keep this machine very clean.

The upside is that you can have effectively unlimited domain controllers all "sharing duties." Adding another one isn't a problem.

If it is only board meetings, $1/minute isn't bad. If it is regular company meetings, it would seem that it is.

@Dashrender - yeah we got rid of everything associated with the profile, we also used a different login username as her name had changed & needed to be done soon anyway. So we treated this new profile like a brand spanking new user.

The Fluke website said it included the first 100 ports scanned, after that you could buy in blocks of 100 or 1000 for penny's per port.

The wall port number, most offices I've worked in label the wall port. Very helpful to specifying what connection you were actually connected to.

And the don't seem all that fun then either!!

Office? I guess you mean Office 2007 or newer since Office 2003 was EOL'ed with XP. To that end, I agree, Office 2007 updates should definitely run on XP or there should be hell to pay. But since you can't get support for XP any longer I could see MS saying - if it doesn't work, we're sorry we can't help you until you are on a supported base platform as XP is no longer considered a supported platform for Office 2007 or 2010.

My last company's billing software used these same ActiveX controls that required your security on IE to be disabled to be installed, flaky install still at best after you jumped through all the hoops.

The big losers are the SAN vendor and their salesperson who stand to lose tens or hundreds of thousands by the "counter consult".

All I know is the big V's cloud isn't as cheap, but it's considerably more advanced and robust than all the others. Plus our bandwidth is top notch. Rackspace uses cheaper bandwidth.

I do remember how much faster it was to download, ah...Napster...yeah...I even downloaded movies back and my wife and I watched the 17" screen while in bed. As consumers we were considered pretty techie by others with their smaller screens, slower PCs and dial-up.
