Here's a weird one, I apparently have a hard time hearing my phone, during my on call late at night, So Im looking at ways to make it to where I can hear my phone and wake up, as well as stay awake to handle the call.
friend of mine suggested automation of a bright light (lamp or otherwise) that will turn on when the phone rings from my work number in hopes that the light would wake up me along with the ringing of the phone.

Any ideas on how to go about that?
or Ideas on tech that could help me wake up to my phone ringing?

My main goal is to stop missing calls or falling asleep soon after answering the calls so i can help.
The calls that come in at 2-5 am are normally emergency situations where they need help within 10 minutes.

Looks like it needs to be an analog phone..
          That's a good idea though.

I have my PRTG alert notification set to The Walking Dead theme. It has woken me up every time. Including yesterday at 5:55 AM to tell me there was a problem with the server room AC.

I'm thinking that something involving IFTTT and smart bulbs shouldn't be too difficult to set up

I despise being on-call. sadly it comes around every four weeks... well at least for now. Not sure about the new gig yet.

I've got to have a loud annoying ring tone. And it can't sit next to me. While I have a huge problem with sleeping, I can sleep through it. So I found a few tones on Zedge and use them.

Of course if it goes off and I miss it,.. I can expect a punch in the shoulder from my wife to go turn it off... she likes her sleep too....

I sleep with a smart watch on my wrist and a phone under my pillow. I am bound to wake up.

Or how about they just call until you answer. On call does not mean, not allowed to sleep.
