I'd probably love it then. Honey sweetened things are better than normal sweetners, and it really doesn't help that I have a major sweet tooth.

@scottalanmiller it is customary here to drink it with just water. Try it with Sprite one third or quarter arak the rest Sprite .

It is customary here to drink it straight. We keep it in the freezer.

@rojoloco My favorite is the Old Fashioned with Knob Creek. I keep trying different variations. If you don't mind - What is your "recipe"? I have tried with just the bourbon, added a dash of water, club soda, orange bitters, regular bitters, etc. Still can't get it like one I've had in my favorite restaurant. I'm still trying though.

This was my first attempt at homemade (pretty good, not great. A friend made me one on saturday that was excellent, should have paid more attention) .
I muddled an orange slice with a bit of simple syrup (can also use a demarara sugar cube) and the bitters (regular and orange). Take out the orange slice, remove the pulp, rind goes back in the glass. Add a large ice cube, bourbon, stir, add a splash of club soda, then garnish with an orange slice and a maraschino cherry. I'll definitely be paying more attention next time I order one.

I had a lovely Glenmorangie last night. Helped me to get rid of a headache that had lasted all day. Bad dreams, though.

Well not to brag with all of history of wars and couple of inventions and sexual abstinence.
But we did brought arak to the world and it maybe the father of all alcohol.
Lately having trouble finding a good cocktail mix for it without any soda like Pepsi or Sprite
