Is that a 2008R2 server or 2012?Sorry didn't see the heading. It's a Dynamic disk which is basically Windows software RAID 0. It shouldn't be showing like that though.

@scottalanmiller said in Server 2012 - Partition Issues: If you go into the mounted D drive, how big does it say that it is? I added a picture above ^^^, 899GB

@dafyre I have a backup but everything is running fine.....

I'm thinking that you take it down and trying changing the drive letter of the hopefully unused partition to E or F and see what happens.

It just looks funny, maybe everything is fine, but it looks funny, and that's bugging me. The full space is available, and the shares are all working perfectly, but I am wondering what the heck it is doing, and what will happen in the future, say if I need to expand the drive again, etc.

A simple volume is a dynamic volume that is made up of disk space from a single dynamic disk. A simple volume can consist of a single region on a disk or multiple regions of the same disk that are linked together. You can create simple volumes only on dynamic disks. https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc725610(v=ws.11).aspx

@scottalanmiller said in Server 2012 - Partition Issues: Maybe you did a span by accident? No, I right clicked on the 836.05 GB Partition and Clicked "Extend Volume" then told it to use the unallocated space.
-
I have not seen a span in a very long time, but that might be what it looks like.

@scottalanmiller said in Server 2012 - Partition Issues: Did you delete the other one first? Yes, that's how I had unallocated space
