      I doubt it. http://www.theverge.com/2016/3/30/11333378/microsoft-windows-phone-windows-mobile-plans

"...there will be a time for it to be our focus, but right now it's part of the family but it's not the core of where I hope to generate developer interest over the next year"

They really kinda hurt themselves by not aggressively going after app developers early on, and they got the reputation of "not having apps" on their platform.

They did go after developers, but they had nothing to offer them. Not having apps was bad, being loaded with scam apps and promoting them as the real apps and no usable app store, those were the killers that I saw. That and pointless or negative features being touted and nothing of value to users.

"Do you love Instagram? Well, you'll love Instagram For Windows, made by BleepBloop Studios."

Hey to be fair WP had Instagram. It was just perpetually in beta. I haven't looked but I wouldn't be surprised if it was still a beta.

I thought I heard it was officially released, but then again, I've never used instragram.. so I don't care. 🙂

HOw could you have, you have a Windows Phone. Instagram is a phone only application.

It was still in the app store (or whatever they call it). It just said "BETA" beside it. No video ability and the UI was pretty bad.

It's pretty bad when a single guy (Rudy something or other) makes better apps on WP than the companies do. He made an Instagram app, snapchat (till they shut it down), 9gag, and some others.

I think Windows is trying but they will try anything...

Related but unrelated - apparently LAPD is now going to have Tesla Model S for their cars

Lucky police department. Even stripped down I bet those cars will be nice.

Tesla are perfect for that. Big enough to haul lots of people, fast enough to catch anything.

Really? What's their top speed? Most electric cars take off like a bat out of hell as they produce full torque at low speeds, but also tend to top out at a slower speed than other vehicles. I don't know the top end for the different Tesla models off the top of my head. Keep in mind that anyone they'll be chasing will be competent enough to disable the 120mph factory limit mandated in Merica.

Same thing with the Teslas... their governors will be removed. Nothing will effectively be able to outrun them in Los Angeles. This is LAPD, not California Patrol. No need for long distances or high top end speeds in the city. But 200 mph wouldn't be surprising on those things. There is no electric car on the market like them.

Yup, the model S is a world class luxury performance car that also happens to be electric. It compares favorably to any refined European sport sedan, both in performance and comfort.

I'd be very surprised. Every time you add gearing, you remove a huge chunk of efficiency. Which means all electric car makers remove all the gears they can get away with. 120+ with a model S, maybe, but I doubt they'd hit 200.

Now that I've typed all that, I see this. Tesla Model S P90D on Ludicrous mode tops out at 155mph.
              .

              .
              .
in 29 seconds. I don't know of any other supercar that will hit it's top speed in anything close to that time.

So max continuous power provided by the batteries is 69kW/h. So the P90D should deplete going at that max speed in ~1 hour and 15 minutes. That doesn't sound right.

Yeah, I'd figure more like 30 minutes in real life. Out of curiosity, how'd you figure that 1 hour 15 minutes?

The battery is 85kW/h battery, but it is limited to a a max continuous throughput of 69kW/h.

So no taking into account how efficiently it can apply that power to the ground. Makes a lot more sense.

So no taking into account how efficiently it can apply that power to the ground. Makes a lot more sense.

Pretty much, we'd assume a flat surface and high transfer efficiency. It's an electric motor so it is already pretty high. It also assumes nothing else is running in the vehicle.

I'd be very surprised. Every time you add gearing, you remove a huge chunk of efficiency. Which means all electric car makers remove all the gears they can get away with. 120+ with a model S, maybe, but I doubt they'd hit 200.

Now that I've typed all that, I see this. Tesla Model S P90D on Ludicrous mode tops out at 155mph.

in 29 seconds. I don't know of any other supercar that will hit it's top speed in anything close to that time.

And it is governed to that speed, not motor limited.

Not as fast as youd think. I've ridden in a Tesla S balls to the wall. It's quite the ride.

                                      I doubt it. http://www.theverge.com/2016/3/30/11333378/microsoft-windows-phone-windows-mobile-plans

Instagram is a phone only application.

yeah yeah, yuk it up fuzzy ball 😛

I was on Windows phone for 18 months. I could have used it before or after 🙂

Very likely. The motors will spin inside the tire if not limited.

I'd be very surprised. Every time you add gearing, you remove a huge chunk of efficiency. Which means all electric car makers remove all the gears they can get away with. 120+ with a model S, maybe, but I doubt they'd hit 200.

Now that I've typed all that, I see this. Tesla Model S P90D on Ludicrous mode tops out at 155mph.
                                            .
                                            .
                                            .
                                            .
in 29 seconds. I don't know of any other supercar that will hit it's top speed in anything close to that time.

And it is governed to that speed, not motor limited.

I'm willing to bet that the motor would be able to handle more power than the battery can safely supply.

Very likely. The motors will spin inside the tire if not limited.

Ya imagine what whole companies can do when you have this guy doing it himself
