Deciding on do I use my cheap ass rework station for some console repairs, see if I can get a small bit for it. Or do I send some ££ on a micro iron that's better for SMD stuff?

Seen some good reviews on some cheapish banggood iron and hot air separate

you must have good eyesight and a steady hand to do smd work.

No new house for us. We backed out of the contract as the electrical work was more $$ than what the seller wanted to spend (they tried to negotiate us paying for part which we said no they need to fix it on their dime). Sad but we're ok with it.

I'm trying to put together a pitch for our executives/City Council to persuade them to increase our spending on Cybersecurity by 50%. If any of you all have good resources to point me to it would be welcome.

                                  That worked by the way.

Got sent out with the wrong monitor adapter for a user, so now I get to make the "wheel run" again. For anyone that's familiar with this area of Ohio, that's Orrville -> Dover -> Millersburg -> Orrville again in the near future.

Have done some work back in the day. Also got a microscope ready 🙂

Many lifetimes ago I was an electronics tech and we used to fix etching problems on circuit boards. We had those illuminated magnifying lamps, they made life a lot easier.

Sometimes when the engineers had to fault find new designs for products, they'd find that tracks that ran close close together couldn't be etched that close together with the tech they had at the time, so we had to grab a scalpel and sit at the lamp and scratch away to join between the tracks. That was pre smd days.

Seems like another person to me did that now.
