@mlnews Usually only put my Red Hat on for CentOS with servers and hypervisors. Now you've got me considering wiping my Ubuntu notebook this weekend. Flaking on social obligations in 5 ... 4 ... 3 ...

I love running all the latest Linux desktops 🙂 Wish that I had more machines on which to do it. If I still had my own home, I might make a rock solid NFS /home server and make my machines multi-boot into lots of different Linux desktops and keep all of my files as if they were local but change the OS around.

That's one thing I love being able to do at work. Change the OS, but the user environment is still the same. IT is tricktsty it is.

The wonderful world of Linux. Being able to change the OS, but keep the desktop. Or change the desktop while keeping the OS. Keeping your files regardless of OS or desktop. It's miraculous.

So you are running Mate on Korora 24 now? No Cinnamon because you are in a VM without direct GPU access? What desktop options are available?

That would be a perfect animated background.

And it needs to make a blooping sound as it goes.

Or a pooping sound, that would be funnier.

A smooth install on Acer with UEFI.
More than I can say for the Ubuntu install I did on it 3 years ago that finally got wiped today.

I'm going to dual boot my laptop today with this and see how it does.

Trying to side-load this on my windows laptop (running from the livecd atm) and I'm unable to mount my SSD.

When I try to install, I'm only given the option to erase the entire drive to reclaim space.

                                    I'm getting this error:

What does side loading in that context? Sounds like a normal dual boot.

side load, dual boot same thing.

Now I'm just looking at Asus Rogs instead ... lol

Very different. There is no "side" load in a dual boot. It's two peers. If you use that term, it means that you "side load" every OS ever. You never say that you are "side loading Windows" onto someone laptop.

Side loading is a term for loading apps outside of the application managers.

I've got one ROG now and am getting another this week, hopefully. They are very nice.
